Route 1 northbound is down to one lane from New Road to Major Road. The lane closure is expected to last till around 2 p.m.
PSE&G is doing emergency repair work on two utility poles that have split. The poles are located on Route 1 north between New Road and Major Road. The highway is down to one lane in the area until 2pm. Heavy delays are anticipated during the next five hours.
Motorists should utilize Route 522 east to Route 130 north as an alternative.
