Police Investigating Sunday Morning Crash

South Brunswick man struck a fire hydrant and tree early Sunday morning on Major Road.

A township man was hospitalized early Sunday morning after a single vehicle crash on Major Road.

Matthew Miller, 27, of South Brunswick, was hurt when his car left the roadway shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday. First responders found Miller's Trans Am had struck a fire hydrant and a tree near 63 Major Road.

The Monmouth Junction Volunteer Fire Department used the Jaws-of-Life to extricate Miller, who was the only occupant of the vehicle. Miller was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick by the Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad and paramedics.

The South Brunswick Water Department also responded to turn off the water and repair the broken fire hydrant. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

Miller was released from the hospital on Sunday afternoon.
