Monmouth Junction Fire Department Collects Food, Toys for Less Fortunate

Residents meet Santa Claus, while bringing a non-perishable food item to be donated to the South Brunswick Food Pantry.

On Sunday, Dec. 11, the hosted an event at the firehouse where residents could meet Santa Claus. In order to gain admission, residents needed to bring a non-perishable food item, which would be donated to the South Brunswick Food Pantry.

Once inside, residents could meet Santa, participate in games around the station, drink hot chocolate, and climb aboard the fire trucks.

In all, more than 65 families visited the station, filling six large recycling containers of food. Some residents also donated unwrapped toys, which were given to the food pantry as well. Lastly, residents also donated money for a needy family in town, which we hope to announce in the coming month.

The Fire Department would like to thank resident Michele Lounsbury for conceiving and planning this event, which is the first time we have held this type of event at the station.
