Monmouth Junction Bus Driver Charged with DWI Following Accident

An empty school bus ran off the road near the intersection of Church Lane and Beekman Road in East Brunswick.

Lori Ann Aceta, 53, of Monmouth Junction, was charged with driving while intoxicated in East Brunswick after the school bus she was driving ran off the road and hit a tree on Church Lane at approximately 1:45 p.m., today (Monday, Nov. 14).

According to East Brunswick Police, Aceta was driving a bus owned by the Phoenix Bus Company, based in Monroe, west on Church Lane when it left the road and hit a tree.

Police said there were no children on the bus at the time. The department also could not confirm where the bus was coming from or if it was en route to make a pick up.

Aceta told police that she had bent down to pick up something that fell off the dashboard at the time of the accident.

She was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for non-life threatening injuries, police said.
