Kendall Park Man Charged with Stealing Trumpet

Police said suspect took the musical instrument from a car parked at the South Brunswick Public Library and sold the trumpet in New Brunswick.

South Brunswick Police charged a township man with burglary for allegedly stealing a musical instrument from a car in the parking lot of the South Brunswick Public Library.

Kenneth Arhakos, 29, of Kendall Park, was arrested on Monday for an incident that occurred on April 28, police said.

Arhakos allegedly entered a vehicle in the library parking lot and stole a trumpet from the car, according to police. Arhakos then went to a business in New Brunswick and sold the musical instrument, police said.

Detectives following up on a different case discovered the stolen trumpet in the New Brunswick store before the owner of the instrument realized it had been taken, according to police. 

Arhakos was lodged on $15,000 bail in the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center.  Detective Ron Seaman is still investigating the case to see if anyone else was involved in the theft.
