Gun Buyback in Middlesex County This Week

Residents can receive a cash payment of up to $250 per weapon, depending on the type and condition of each gun.

In an effort to reduce gun violence by taking firearms out of circulation, Acting Attorney General John J. Hoffman announced last week that a state-sponsored gun buyback program for Middlesex County residents will be held at three area churches on Sept. 27 and 28.

The three buyback locations in the county the Middlesex are at Sacred Heart Parish Hall in New Brunswick, the Sayre Woods Bible Church in Old Bridge, and Cathedral International in Perth Amboy.

Hoffman said the Middlesex buyback will be run in a similar fashion to recent state-sponsored buybacks in in Hudson and Union counties. Between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Sept. 27 and 28, residents can turn in up to three firearms “no questions asked” at any of the three Middlesex County churches to receive a cash payment of up to $250 per weapon, depending on the type and condition of each gun.
