Flash Flood Watch in Effect For Middlesex County

The watch is in effect through this evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for multiple counties, including Mercer and the Philadelphia area, through this evening.

According to the NWS, several bands of showers and thunderstorms are expected to bring locally heavy rains, with up to four inches possible in some areas. On average, amounts should be between 1-1.5 inches.

Smaller creeks and streams could flood, particularly in areas that experienced heavy rain on Sunday, according to NWS.

If heavy rain falls in a short period of time, the likelihood of flooding increases, NWS said.
