UPDATE: Stranded Boaters Were Trying to Protect Dam From Freezing

No one was injured.

Emergency crews from Kingston and Princeton rescued three boaters who became stuck at the top of the dam at Carnegie Lake on Tuesday morning.

According to Princeton police, the men were working on the lake on Tuesday morning, employed as contractors installing aeration devices to keep the lake from freezing at the dam.

The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. along Princeton-Kingston Road near Dodds Lane, according to authorities.

Police say that Jeffrey Horn, 50, of Bangor Pa, Kevin Shank, 29, of Pen Argyl, Pa. and Todd Schramm, 40, of Oxford were out on the lake when the steering failed and the current led the boat to rest at the top of the dam. Those aboard had no way to return to shore.

Emergency crews from Kingston and Princeton were able to lead the boat and its passengers to safety. There were no injuries.
