Firefighters Extinguish Monmouth Mobile Home Blaze

About 25 firefighters extinguished the blaze in under 10 minutes.

Firefighters from the Kendall Park, Monmouth Junction and Kingston fire companies extinguished a blaze in the Monmouth Mobile Home Park this afternoon.

At 3:55 p.m., the call came in reporting a fire at residence located at 11 Maine Street in the park, located at 4017 Route 1 in Monmouth Junction.  Kendall Park Fire Chief Chris Perez said he arrived at the scene minutes after the call came in and observed the residence filled with smoke.  

Firefighters made entry into the residence and found a fire in the bathroom area of the home.  About 25 firefighters from the three companies extinguished the blaze in under 10 minutes, Perez said.

The residence suffered significant smoke damage, but Perez said it will still be inhabitable.  As of 5:00 pm. the first responders had begun to clear the scene.  The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, Perez said.
