Firefighters Contain Early Morning Blaze on Commerce Drive

No injuries suffered during a warehouse fire at Infragistics.

Firefighters extinguished an early morning blaze at a Commerce Drive warehouse on Wednesday. 

At 1 a.m. South Brunswick Police received a reported fire alarm activation at Infragistics, located at 2 Commerce Drive. The Monmouth Junction Fire Department was dispatched and advised alarms were received for smoke detector activation and water flow activation.

Upon arriving at the scene, Monmouth Junction Fire Chief Brian Spahr met with an Infragistics employee, who reported a fire in the warehouse section of the building.

Chief Spahr called for a full assignment first alarm, which brought the Kendall Park, Kingston, Cranbury, and North Brunswick #2 Fire Companies to assist fighting the blaze. The Plainsboro Fire Company provided coverage for the rest of town.

The warehouse sprinkler system was able to partially contain the fire to several trash containers and a storage area, according to police. Firefighters were able to quickly contain the blaze and the fire damage to the warehouse area of the building.

Police said the fire caused smoke damage throughout the entire building. First responders were on scene until approximately 4 a.m. ventilating the building.

The Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad also responded to the scene. There were no injuries suffered during the fire, which is under investigation by Fire Official Alan Laird of the South Brunswick Fire Safety Bureau.
