Family Displaced in Monmouth Mobile Home Fire

Accidental fire leaves residence uninhabitable.

A late morning fire Saturday displaced two family members at the Monmouth Mobile Home Park.

At 10:49 a.m., a resident of 3 New York Avenue in the park reported losing power before her home began to fill with smoke, police said. The resident called 911 and was able to retrieve her two dogs before she fled the residence.

The Kendall Park Fire Department arrived to find heavy smoke coming from a bedroom, but were able to limit the fire to the one room. Two residents of the home received treatment at the scene by the Kendall Park First Aid Squad.
