Well before Super Bowl XLVI's kickoff Sunday evening, fans speculated about what might be the best big game commercials.

Another ad getting a lot of attention has been dubbed "The Dark Side" and features a whole bunch of pretty cute dogs barking out a pitch for Volkswagen. In addition, Elton John also will appear in a much-anticipated Pepsi ad during the Super Bowl alongside “X Factor” winner Melanie Amaro.
Meanwhile, Coke plans to roll out something completely different this year. By going here, you can watch the animated polar bears react to the Super Bowl itself, the ads, and even the halftime show. In addition, there were some Coke executives on the air talking about which of two different commercials they should air.
Overall, ads this year were expected to be longer with one ad for Audi scheduled to last a full 60 seconds.
And they were expected to make better use of smartphones and other technology by encouraging viewers to use their phones and iPads to make purchases and even to enter contests during the game.
This year, a 30-second commercial slot cost businesses $3.5 million on average, compared with $3 million last year.
This year's Super Bowl took place in Indianapolis, with the New York Giants beating the New England Patriots to win the National Football League Championship.
