Obit: Thomas P. Quaely

Quaely was a former resident of Dayton.

Thomas Peter Quaely died suddenly on Monday, October 7. He was a long-time resident of Franklin and a former resident of Dayton.

Tom was a loving husband and father.  He was a source of strength to those who knew him.  Tom enjoyed golf, music, traveling, entertaining, was a BBQ master and enjoyed his German beer. He was a skilled craftsman who took great pride in his home, which was always open to friends and strangers alike. 

He was proud of his service in the US Navy and the Army Reserve. Tom was a dedicated and accomplished employee in his career at AT&T for 20 years.

He was active in the Community Presbyterian Church of the Sand Hills in Kendall Park where he served as an Elder and was an integral part of his church family.

Tom is survived by his loving wife Gabriele (Putzer) Quaely, his daughters Erin and Isabel and stepdaughter Jessica Hajdu-Nemeth. He is also survived by his mother Karen Quaely, brother-in-law Manfred Putzer, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was predeceased by his father Thomas Quaely, Sr. and his brother Andrew Quaely.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 3:30 p.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church of the Sand Hills, 57 Sand Hills Road, Kendall Park.  Immediately following the service, an informal gathering will continue to celebrate Tom’s life at the Sunset Hills Country Club, 113 Forest Ave., Princeton, NJ 08540. 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a college fund for Isabel Quaely.
