Wow, What a Day…

Hugs for Brady 2nd Annual Twilight 5k & Family Fun Run

The Hugs for Brady 2nd Annual Twilight 5k & Family Fun Run was just awesome! More than 500 runners and walkers took to the streets of South Brunswick to raise awareness and money for children battling childhood cancer.  From the music of Chris Raymond and Jeremiah James to the many vendors it will be a tough act to follow.  While it’s still too early to know exactly how much money we raised, I know in my heart we certainly will pass the $15,000.00 mark.

There are so many, many people to thank for making this day a success it’s difficult for me to know where to begin?  Jodi, Dave and Tom our Race Chairmen without your tireless efforts none of this could or would ever have taken place.  The 60+ Volunteers ranging in age from 10 years old to well let’s just say senior citizens did an incredible job.  Our Sponsors from American Combat Karate Academy, Barrood & Barrood, Best Buy of South Brunswick, Bright Horizons, Confectionately Yours, Distinctive Designs, Fitness 19, Goddard School, Hoffmann & Sons Plumbing & Heating, J. O’Brien Company, Jersey Physical Therapy, Kohls, My Gym, NY Sports Club, Options 2 Dine, Progressive Landscaping, Road Runner of North Brunswick, Subway, South Brunswick Parks & Recreation, TD Bank, Tomato Factory, Tour Masters, and Tri State Choppers.  Thank you is really very insufficient.

A special thank you to the South Brunswick Choir for their performance of the National Anthem; it was just incredible.  Our official photographers Katie Denberg and Frank DiGiovanni; can’t wait to see your photos.

Finally, four very, very exceptional people whose courage and love guide our inspiration; Elizabeth Ruckdeschel, Jake Holmes, Johnny Volpe and Edward Migliore my heroes who are the bravest people I know and are beating the horrors of childhood cancer; thanks for being a part of our event.

Yes, yesterday was a WoW of a day!  South Brunswick's best and most caring people showed up to demonstrate their love and compassion.  From Sherrie and me; through tear filled eyes, thank you for your continued support in making sense out of our son Brady’s short but oh so memorable life… Thank you
