South Brunswick Resident Accepts Awards of Excellence for NJ State Library

The New Jersey State Library received three awards for excellence in the Special Purpose Print Material categories.

At the 37th Annual JASPER Awards presentation of the Jersey Shore Public Relations & Advertising Association (JSPRAA), the New Jersey State Library received three awards for excellence in the Special Purpose Print Material categories. Accepting the awards was South Brunswick resident Gary Cooper, public relations and news media contact for the library.

The poster series promoting the statewide NJWorks@yourlibrary campaign targeting job seekers received the President’s Choice Award for Best in Show, which is presented to the entry that embodies creativity and a strong branding message.

In the Brochure category, “Connecting People with Information Through Libraries” received a Gold Award. A Gold Award is given to the entry receiving the highest score in its category.

This amounted to a clean sweep for the publication, which also received awards from the New Jersey Library Association, the New Jersey Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and a best of show award from the American Library Association.

In the Direct Mail category, a Silver Award went to the direct marketing mailer created to bring greater awareness of the services offered by the Talking Book & Braille Center.

The JASPER Awards, which were established in 1974 to honor excellence in communications, were presented at the Robert Meyner Reception Center, PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel, on October 14.
