Aging in Place PARTNERS will showcase Transportation Service providers representing the State and tri county area, who have creatively and persistently afforded people with disabilities, seniors, veterans, and others the opportunity to be involved in transportation planning. We will discuss partnerships with other organizations, outreach to different populations, and importance of an inclusive attitude. Attendees will explore transportation options from the perspectives of transit, human services, and centers for independent living through panels and round table discussion groups. Emphasis will include creating a curb to curb Middlesex County transportation model in South Brunswick and continuing the work towards a tri-county (Middlesex, Mercer and Somerset) seamless transit plan.

For individuals who face the challenges and isolation when they can no longer drive, this is a day designed for them. If you know little about your options for local and/or county transit services, this a day for you. It is a continuing process initiated by AIPP in 2010 and supported with technical support and guidance (newly granted again in 2013) to the Aging in Place PARTNERSHIP through the National Center for Senior Transportation (NCST) and Easter Seals. An announcement of a vitally needed curb to curb start-up service in South Brunswick will be made by AIPP Board member Len Schickler, vice president of North Brunswick’s Mobility Mall Professionals.
