Hundreds Run With the Vikings

Annual 'Run With the Vikings 5k' raises funds for Viking Athletic Club.

On Nov. 3, over 320 runners participated in the 9th annual Run with the Vikings 5K at South Brunswick High School. 

Presented by the Viking Athletic Club, the successful event raised thousands of scholarship dollars for the student athletes of the high school. Matthew Eder of New Brunswick was the overall winner of the 5K and Jessica Braun of Bridgewater was the first female.

Elisa Meranchik and Brandon Diaz were the fastest South Brunswick residents and the Rodgers family, Michael, Carolyn and John, were crowned champions of the Fittest Family Challenge.  

There were plenty of refreshments after the race. Wawa, Bertucci’s, High Grade Beverage, Harvest Specialty Catering, Tastee Subs, Pleasant Hill Farms, provided post race food for the runners.

There were multiple, donated prizes that were raffled off including a vacuum cleaner donated by Miele.

Once again lead sponsor, The Rehabilitation Center provided pre- and post-race stretching and gave tips to the runners. Others that made the race possible were Road Runner Sports, Jersey Physical Therapy, Grossman Chiropratic, PBA Local 166, Brunswick Urgent Care, Dick’s Sporting Goods,  AGT & Associates Inc, Sandler Training, and Joe Camarota.
