"Dynamo" Author Meet & Greet!!

Zach Lichtmann's exciting new novel, Dynamo, reveals an important message for young adults: taking a stand to become the person you want to be is the greatest fight of your life. It's a lesson that Lichtmann feels strongly about and is putting to good use for a cause right here in New Jersey. He's donating a portion of the proceeds from all sales of Dynamo during the month of February to The Community FoodBank of New Jersey. And that's not all he's doing.

Lichtmann will be holding two Meet-and-Greet events where he will be reading select passages from his novel, signing books, and offering a Q&A session—free to the public. For those who haven't read it, his novel follows sixteen-year-old Matt's attempt to hold onto the established social rules of high school. But when Matt fails to stop a violent crime, he realizes he must change. He begins a series of secret missions to find courage and, maybe, redemption. During those missions, Matt and his three best friends encounter abusive authorities and violent criminals who have their own agendas. But Matt's relentless obsession to always push himself and the missions further may ruin his friendships and any chance he has with the first girl he's ever liked. Soon, he even puts his friend's life in jeopardy. As each of Matt's risks intensifies, teen readers will be debating what it means to take a stand and make a change.

“Taking a Stand” will be the theme of the two Meet-and-Greet events. Attendees will be able to hear select passages and pick Lichtmann's brain about the novel and writing, and will also find out information on what kids and adults can do to “take a stand” in their own communities in the fight against hunger and poverty in New Jersey.

The first Meet-and-Greet will be held at1:00PM on Saturday, February 1st, in the Rutgers University Bookstore: located at 100 Somerset Street, New Brunswick, NJ. (Parking in the garage next to the bookstore is validated at the store's registers with the purchase of a book.) The event will be held on the second floor of the bookstore.
