Survey Says N.J. Grades Near Bottom in Wages

Moneyrates.com poll ranks Garden State 45th in states to make a living.

For the second time in less than a week, a nationwide survey has ranked New Jersey with low grades in quality-of-life issues – this time ranking the state 45th out of 50 in states to make a living.

The Moneyrates.com survey based the rankings on four categories:

  • Average wage and unemployment data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics
  • Cost of living data from C2ER (formerly ACCRA)
  • State tax rate information from Tax-Rates.org
  • The Workplace Environment rankings from the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index poll.

Late last week, a Libertarian think tank study ranked the Garden State the third least-free state in the country in the amount of freedom it grants citizens, according to The Huffington Post.
