South Brunswick Health Fair and Flu Shots Schedule

A wide variety of medical services will be offered throughout the fall.

The South Brunswick Township Board of Health, in partnership with St. Peter's University Hospital, will be hosting a health fair on Oct. 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the South Brunswick Senior Center.

The following services will be available to all residents (18 years and older) of South Brunswick Township:

  • Blood Pressure/Blood Sugar (Saint Peter’s University Hospital)
  • Hearing* (Saint Peter’s University Hospital)
  • Osteoporosis Screening* (Saint Peter’s University Hospital)
  • Body Mass Index and “Ask the Nutritionist” (Saint Peter’s University Hospital)
  • “Ask the Doctor” (Saint Peter’s University Hospital)
  • Vision/Glaucoma (South Brunswick Lions)
  • Oral Cancer Screening (Doctors of Dental Medicine)
  • Balance and Arthritis Screening* (Jersey Physical Therapy)
  • Foot & Ankle Screening (Dr. Clarke Farrell)
  • “Ask the Pharmacist” & Brown Bag (Stop & Shop Pharmacy)
  • Flexibility & Strength Screening (The Rehabilitation Center)
  • Blood Profile* (CBC, chemistry screen, cholesterol and lipids - $23 - cash only; Homocysteine & HS-CRP for additional $28 - cash only)
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccine - $20 cash, check (made payable to SPUH) or Medicare Part B
  • Pneumonia Vaccine - $20 cash, check (made payable to SPUH) or Medicare Part B

In addition to the screenings, a variety of FREE health and safety literature will be available through additional vendors.  The FILE OF LIFE  (a vinyl magnetized file with a 4-panel card containing health history and medication information) will also be distributed FREE.

  • Sept. 20 Senior/High Risk** 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Senior Center
  • Oct. 3 Adult – FLU ONLY 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Charleston Place
  • Oct. 6 Pediatric** 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Four Seasons Club House
  • Oct. 6 Adult – FLU ONLY 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Four Seasons Club House
  • Oct. 12 Adult – FLU ONLY 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at Princeton Manor Club House
  • Oct. 22 Adult Health Fair 9 a.m. – noon at the Senior Center

Seasonal flu vaccine: $20 cash, check (made payable to SPUH) or Medicare B.  Pneumonia vaccine: $20 cash, check (made payable to SPUH) or Medicare B.

You must bring your Medicare card with you.  If you are in an HMO, you should receive your immunizations at your HMO facility.

All pediatric clients (ages 3 years to 18 years) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Vaccines will be administered on an appointment-only basis on Oct. 6 (Register online – see above **Appointments necessary). 

Pregnant women or breast feeding mothers must bring a note from their physician in order to receive the flu vaccine.

In the event of vaccine shortages or delays in distributions that require changes in flu eligibility or clinic date changes, the Health Department will issue a press release.
