Friday Evening

South Brunswick High School Football Vs. Monroe Township High School, 200 Schoolhouse Rd., Monroe Township, 7 p.m. The Vikings hope to roll their perfect record to 5-0 in this local showdown against Monroe.

, , 540 Ridge Rd, Monmouth Junction, 8 p.m. The Dom DeFrancesco Quintet will be performing Friday night. The group specializes in a wide range of jazz, featuring DeFrancesco on the saxophone. All Jazz Café performances run from 8 to 10 p.m. Admission is $6 at the door and light refreshments are served. The Jazz Café shows are targeted to residents of all ages.

, 145 Mapleton Rd, Princeton, 2 p.m. Join KGA and naturalists Henry and Betty Horn on this leisurely walk in the Mapleton Preserve/Princeton Nursery lands. Betty Horn is an avid botanist with an intimate knowledge of local wildflowers.  She has served as Curator of the Biological Collections at the Princeton University Museum of Natural History since 1978. Henry Horn has taught in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Princeton since 1966, and is well known for his professional enthusiasm and his dedication to his students.  He has wide ranging interests in natural history, a passion to understand our local environment, and a deep fascination with tree ecology. Both the Horns are enthusiastic teachers, and will share their expertise on a walk that focuses on trees (Henry), flowers (Betty) and whatever other discoveries are made along the way.  If desired, bring binoculars or tree and wildflower identification books.  Wear sensible shoes, and dress for the weather (whatever it is). Refreshments will be available at the conclusion of the walk.

Adult-supervised child care will be available. Donors should be 17 or older (of 16 with parent/guardian approval), be in good general health and weigh at least 120 pounds.
