In partnership with a local patriot, the Library has set up a display so that residents and members of the public can stop to write a short message of appreciation to veterans. Use the dedicated notebook at the Memorial Day display in the Main Lobby. In several weeks the book of thank you notes will be shared with veterans' organizations.

Spring Concert featuring Hanneke Cassell, , 110 Kingston Ln, Monmouth Junction, 3 p.m.

The Friends are presenting a bonus concert this weekend. The performer will be Hanneke Cassell, an internationally known fiddler with accompaniment by a cellist and guitarist.  "Exuberant and rhythmic, somehow both wild and innocent, delivered with captivating melodic clarity and an irresistible playfulness," says the Boston Globe about Hanneke Cassel's playing. Such charismatic fiddling has brought the native Oregonian many honors and awards. She is the 1997 U.S. National Scottish Fiddle Champion, she holds a Bachelors of Music in Violin Performance from Berklee College of Music, and she has performed and taught across North America, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, and China.


America's Story through Folk Songs with Spook Handy, 110 Kingston Ln, Monmouth Junction, 2 p.m.

This Sunday's live concert performance is America's Story through Folk Songs with singer Spook Handy. The South Brunswick Public Library has received a grant that will provide funding for eight live musical performances in the library in 2012.  The performances are generally scheduled for the last Sunday of every month.
