The big top will return to South Brunswick this weekend as the Zerbini Family Circus rolls back into town. The show features animals, a dog show, jugglers, high wire acrobats and plenty of clowns. The Zerbini Circus' Big Top seats up to 1,500 people and offers modern sound and lighting systems, with pony and camel rides. The circus is sponsored by the South Brunswick Lions Club. Founded in 1953, the Lions return all profits to the community by assisting numerous causes including aid to the visually impaired, school scholarships, rescues squads, eye exams and glasses for needy local residents. Lion’s International, whose slogan is “We Serve,” is the world’s largest service organization. For more information call the Circus Hotline at 732-297-1107. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Advance tickets can be purchased at Pierre's Deli on Georges Road or Confectionately Yours on Route 27.

American Legion Post 401, 148 Major Rd., South Brunswick, will hold their monthly Karaoke Dance on Friday, May 18, at 8:30 p.m. As always, the karaoke is free and open to the public. For information call 732-329-9861.

In partnership with a local patriot,  the Library has set up a display so that residents and members of the public can stop to write a short message of appreciation to veterans. Use the dedicated notebook at the Memorial Day display in the Main Lobby. In several weeks the book of thank you notes will be shared with veterans' organizations.

Local artist Michael Ciccotello is unveiling his latest series of evocative work for one night only. "Connect" is a series of work based on Ciccotello’s thoughts and experiences that are intended to evoke a positive emotion. Join Ciccotello on Saturday, May 19 & Sunday, May 20 at DiGiovanni Photography Studio for a high impact discussion of his paintings in a solo exhibition.

The South Brunswick Garden Club will hold their annual plant sale and exchange on the front lawn of the historic Slack Carroll House, 354 Georges Road, Dayton on May 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  You will find many varieties of flowers, herbs and vegetables, including heirlooms and hard to find varieties, also some perennials, shrubs and old garden roses.  All available for trade (bring you own healthy plant) or at low cost.  Also, Charles Gausten, an expert on growing Bonsai trees will give a presentation on that topic at 10:30 am.
