Franklin Park Resident Dr. Nishat Zedie to be Honored at HTCNJ Gala

Nishat Zedie, MD, a Board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist who resides in Franklin Park, will be honored on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Healing the Children New Jersey's 33rd Annual Gala & Awards Ceremony.  The event will be held at Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.  1450 Talk Radio WCTC’s on-air personality Bert Baron will serve as Emcee.

Healing the Children® New Jersey was founded in 1981 and provides access to medical care and related services for children in need in New Jersey and worldwide.  Dr. Zedie will be presented with The Sergio Award, traditionally conferred upon a volunteer whose dedication, time and compassion has helped to change the lives of children in need.

Dr. Zedie travels overseas on volunteer pediatric surgical trips as part of the charity's Medical Teams Abroad program.  Dr. Zedie has volunteered with HTCNJ in Ecuador, Thailand, India, Dominican Republic and Peru.  HTCNJ Executive Director Pamela DePompo stated, "Dr. Zedie is warmly regarded by her colleagues who have collaborated with her to provide medical care to impoverished children.  She is a most valued volunteer who has improved countless children’s lives."

Dr. Zedie practices at University SurgiCenter in New Brunswick.  She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Medical Association, American Society of Anesthesiologists, and International Anesthesia Research Society.  Dr. Zedie earned her medical degree at Nishtar Medical College, with Honors Certificates in General Pathology and Forensic Medicine.
