New Exhibit at South Brunswick Gallery Opens Tonight

Bob Ambrosio, Michael Derer, Bill Hoo and John Sandstedt are the four photographers are featured in “Through the Camera’s Eye,” an invitational exhibit at The Gallery, South Brunswick Municipal Building, 540 Route 522, Monmouth Junction. A Meet the Artist reception will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 6:30–8 p.m.

The gallery has shown the work of many fine photographers is past exhibits. Among them, these four particularly stand out as extremely gifted and professional. Each is so unique in his background and approach to his craft that they will present a rich invitational exhibit.

Bob Ambrosio (Dayton) retired from Wall Street to focus on photography. “Through his camera, he focuses with a fine artistic sense, moments in time that move him.”

His selections in this exhibit feature photographs from the Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia PA.

Michael Derer (Kendall Park), former staff photographer for the Associated Press now turns his eye away from public people and events to the world in his own back yard.

“I have chosen to do a series of photographs with the theme of water in several of its forms…rain, snow, ice and dew. As usual, my inspiration is drawn from things I see around my yard.”

Bill Hoo (Plainsboro) shoots outside the color spectrum norm that presents a more realistic world that we wrongly ignore and believe that we our world is environmentally safe forever.

“Using highly scientific approaches in black and white, he helps us see nature in a new and dramatic way.”

John Sandstedt (Dayton) is a photographer from the good old “film days” who “aims his now digital camera’s eye to show us the world’s landscapes.” My interest in photography goes back more than 60 years when I took my first photos with a Kodak “Baby Brownie.”

This program is funded in part by Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders, Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission with assistance thru a grant provided by New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State.
