June 4 Art Gallery Talk in South Brunswick

East Brunswick artist Don Bloom will discuss his work "Oil Painting to Caricature."

On June 4, East Brunswick artist Don Bloom will discuss his work, “Oil Painting to Caricature,” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at The Gallery in the South Brunswick Municipal Building. Bloom is among the artists in Zooanalia, a juried exhibit sponsored by South Brunswick Arts Commission.

At age 23, Don Bloom was awarded a full scholarship by the Instituo Auende, Mexico, and was selected as one of the 5 “Artists of the Year” in New Jersey by the Newark News. He will show examples of his work from various periods, in different media, and encompassing various art forms, including illustration, cartooning and caricature.

Bloom will demonstrate his interest in caricature by selecting members of the audience and creating full-color caricatures. He estimates he has drawn more than 10,000 heads. For more information, visit www.donbloom.org

All are invited to attend the free Gallery Talk on June 4 and take “A Second Look” at Zooanalia, on exhibit through June 26. The Gallery, located in the South Brunswick Municipal Building, 540 Route 522, Monmouth Junction, is open weekdays 8:30–4:30 p.m. and evenings when meetings are scheduled.
