South Brunswick Township Council Honors Girl Scout Troop For Their Community Service

The South Brunswick Township Council honored the members of the South Brunswick Girl Scout troop a Bronze Award for their recent community service achievements.

Girl Scout Troop 80765 arranged an Animal Fair within South Brunswick, in an attempt to increase the awareness of the animals suffering each day within shelters.

“We brought in Girl Scouts from various other outside towns aside from South Brunswick to help with planning the event, and had 80 Girl Scouts attend the fair,” Jill Mastromonica, both parent of one of the South Brunswick Girl Scouts as well as troop leader, explains.

The Bronze Award requires that each junior Girl Scout complete a service project that will contribute to the welfare of the world around them while also providing a solution for a specific problem.

The Girl Scouts planned many different activities for friends and families to come together and participate in while at the fair, all while collecting items to give to the local shelters.

“There were over 100 food items donated, and they even made cat toys and dog collars that were also donated,” Mastromonica says.
