South Brunswick Scouts Support Troops in Afghanistan

'Goodies for Good Guys' program by Pack 98 sent care packages to U.S. soldiers serving overseas.

Cub Scout Pack 98 helped spread some holiday cheer last month by collecting donations of items that were sent to American troops stationed in Afghanistan.

During "Goodies for Good Guys," the troops helped collect and assemble over 50 care packages for the troops and the Scouts also wrote personal notes for each package. The event also included several stations set up with a military theme, where the Scouts could write letters and draw pictures for the soldiers.

Visiting Cadets also held a question and answer session with the kids, and also taught the Scouts marching drills and military style calisthenics.

Pack 98 sent thanks the Cadets from the ROTC program from University of Princeton and other neighboring colleges who helped at the meeting, along with Lieutenant Colonel George P. Wilcha of the United States Army.
