South Brunswick Scouts Earn Eagle Rank

Christopher Molnar and and Christopher Roff of Troop 90 serve the community while earning Eagle Scout honors.

Troop 90 added two more Eagle scouts to their ranks. Christopher Molnar (#73) and Christopher Roff (#74) were both recognized at their Eagle Court of Honor ceremony on March 24.  Among the dignitaries that presented were Deputy Mayor Chris Killmurray and Joseph Csatari, the official Artist of the Boy Scouts of America who studied under Norman Rockwell.

Along the trail to Eagle, a scout participates in many adventures, earns merit badges and must complete many requirements. Among them is a service project that will benefit a religious institution, school, or the community. The scout must plan, develop, and demonstrate leadership to others in order to complete the requirements.

Both scouts served in many leadership positions during their tenure in Troop 90, most recently as Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders where they were part of the Leadership Team that led the troop.

Molnar's project took over 400 man hours to build. It included a 20 x 20 foot patio with a walkway, benches, re-striping of the parking lot and improved the landscaping around Christ the King Church in South Brunswick.

Roff's project also took over 400 man hours to complete. The project included replacing an old broken slate pathway with a 3 x 42 foot long paver walkway, cleaning up the grounds, rebuilding one of the two church sheds with a new roof and lean-to area and spreading landscaping stone in multiple areas around the property of Sand Hills Presbyterian Church in South Brunswick.
