South Brunswick Physicians On Magazine's 'Top Docs' List

New Jersey Monthly publishes annual list this week.

Two South Brunswick doctors earned inclusion on New Jersey Monthly's 2012 list of "New Jersey's Top Doctors," appearing in this week's issue.

The magazine polled 22,780 New Jersey doctors and asked them who they considered the state's best, naming 839 to the list.

South Brunswick doctors included on the list are:

  • Hemant Kesarwala, MD (Allergy and Immunology), Kendall Park
  • Alpesh B. Patel, MD (Cardiology, Interventional), Kendall Park

Several North Brunswick doctors made the list, including Richard E. Ioffreda, MD (Urology), Satya P. Kastuar, MD (Gastroenterology), David Kirschenbaum, MD (Surgery, Orthopedic), and Steven M. Reich, MD (Surgery, Spine).

Because I worked for a large group that did exactly that. And....if you read the article, it clearly states that the results came from polling physician colleagues, not patients, not hospital employees or anyone else in the general public.

You are right Zoe! It's too bad more people don't realize how this all really works!

Well I know and use Dr. Kesarwalla for my sons. He has been on this list before . I find him very professional and knowledgeable. If other Doctors vote wouldn't that mean that their peers think that they are the best of the group(Dr. Kesarwalla is in a group of two so he's not winning because he got one vote from Dr. Zuckerman). He was recommended to us by the school nurse and many other locals when we first moved to Kendall Park so I think he deserves the recognition. I am sure there are many worthy Doctors who are not on the list. I know I found it hard to find good doctors in the area. Also and I am sure I can jot down the worst doctors in our area faster than the best. We all have our own experiences and beliefs. I am happy that our area came up in a magazine with positive information being spread about it.

I work for a Doctors office also. Zoe is right!! Do not trust this. One of the doctors on the above list was my fathers doctor and he was VERY unprofessional. He would have a computer up in his room with schedule with his patients names and what they were having done!! He also thinks he knows everything and found out from a second opinion he was wrong!!! BEWARE!!

I'll take it one step farther. Did you ever see the plaques in some physician's offices (usually displayed proudly in a public area) that say he/she was voted #1 in a magazine or a "Top Doc?" They are PURCHASED in many cases. That's right - $299 - $1000 can fetch a doc a plaque, framed magazine cover, trophy or loving cup. It's a BUSINESS. And that business fools an unsuspecting patient. This is not to be confused with a legitimate medical certificate of academic achievement or diplomas. It's quite discernible...they even look fraudulent.
