South Brunswick Man Honored For His Service In Dominican Republic

The South Brunswick Township Council honored a local young man for the work he did in the Dominican Republic.

Alex Gruber, 21, spent two years as a missionary where he taught others about Christ and his message. He traveled through four different areas of the Dominican Republic in attempt to help as many different people possible.

“More than anything, we were there to serve the people in whatever they needed.” Gruber explains.

Aside from religious endeavors, Gruber provided the people of the Dominican Republic with various services. He participated in helping clean up garbage within the communities as well as building houses for the residents.

“I got to meet a lot of great people and it really helped me more than anything to grow and learn about myself and about life. It was definitely the most rewarding experience I’ve had so far.” Gruber says.
