South Brunswick Dentists Lend a Helping Paw to Animal Charity

Dayton's Doctors of Dental Medicine turned an employee's safari photos into a $500 donation to the Animal Placement Agency of the Windsors.

After inspiration came in the form of an employee's safari vacation, Dayton's Doctors of Dental Medicine recently donated $500 to a local animal charity.

One of their dental assistants, Shannon, took a once in a lifetime African safari adventure to Tanzania. The pictures she returned with were incredible, as it amazed the other employees to see the animals in their natural habitat.

So the Doctors of Dental Medicine decided with the love for animals in their office they would start a campaign to help a local animal shelter by using Shannon's pictures.  They picked the Animal Placement Agency of the Windsors (APAW), which provides homeless dogs with a safe haven until they are adopted.

The dentist's office then put up a display of some of Shannon's pictures. Any monetary donation was welcomed, but those who made a $10 donation were offered an 8x10 copy of any one of Shannon's safari's pictures. The campaign ran from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

After the drive came to an end, last week The Doctors of Dental Medicine matched all donations and gave APAW a check for $500.
