South Brunswick Chabad's Annual Purim Around the World Sunday

Purim carnival features bubble show, live music by the Baker Brothers, kid's crafts and fun activities.

Chabad Jewish Center of South Brunswick will present their Annual Purim Celebration creating Jewish excitement and fun for the whole family.

The entire Jewish community is invited regardless of affiliation or background. This year’s Purim around the world theme is Purim at the Sea, featuring Megillah Reading at 4 p.m. with a simultaneous slide show.

Come dressed up for the Masquerade Contest in the costume of your choice. There will be a delicious Purim Buffet, including sushi, hamantashen, and many other treats. Fun and entertainment for the entire family will include a fabulous bubble show, live music by the Baker Brothers, kid’s crafts and fun activities.

The event will take place Sunday, Feb. 24, 4 p.m. Megillah Reading, followed by Purim Festivities, at Pierre’s Ballroom, 582 Georges Road in Monmouth Junction. Entry costs $18 for adults and $12 for children.  RSVP online for an early bird special.

Purim is a day of sharing together in utter joy. It is a holiday on which Jews exchange gifts of delicacies and drink, aid the poor and feast on superb dishes interspersed with wine.

The holiday celebrates a riveting yet true epic of palace intrigue in ancient Persia which almost resulted in the annihilation of the Jews during the reign of King Achashverosh. The Jews not only survived but triumphed because of their active unity and unshakable commitments to their identity as a practicing Jewish community.
