Small Investment Brings Big Rewards

CarFit event coming to town later this month.

On Thursday, March 24, beginning with a small investment of time, families and individuals will have a unique opportunity to gain big rewards and discover one of the area's best kept secrets serving those who are disabled, returning home from rehabilitation, or facing loss of driving capabilities.

They will not only gain information about CarFit, but will learn about the gym designed specifically for the wheel chair bound; review a model apartment with innovative and unique retrofitting concepts for any room in your home; access refurbished equipment such as wheel chairs and walkers of all types; and discover a vast array of qualified service providers ranging from elder law to the physical therapist.

This exclusive CarFit event is a free interactive and educational program created by the American Society on Aging and developed in collaboration with AAA, AARP, and AOTA (American Occupational Therapy Association) designed to improve driver safety. It has been planned in cooperation with the South Brunswick Senior Center and the Aging In Place PARTNERSHIP (AIPP).

Trained volunteers provide information to ensure the safest “fit” for drivers and their vehicles.  A proper fit in one’s personal vehicle can greatly increase not only the driver’s safety but also the safety of others. The 30 minute evaluation takes place at the Mobility Mall on Route One North and located just past the Livingston Avenue exit to New Brunswick in the former Suburu dealership.

There is no charge for the event and evaluation. Refreshments will also be provided. In addition all participants will receive a $25 gift card redeemable for merchandise and/or services at Brunswick Mobility Mall.  Registration to attend this CarFit Event is now open.
