Hidden Gems Kick Off Summer Concerts in the Park

First of four concerts in Beech Woods Park in the month of July.

A summer tradition in South Brunswick returns this Friday with the first of the free Concerts in the Park series.  The South Brunswick Recreation Department will bring back local favorites "Hidden Gems" for a performance beginning at 7 p.m. at Beech Woods Park.

The Gems celebrate the growing popularity of Hindi cinema and Bollywood, as well as music from around the globe especially among people of Indian origin, according to their web site.  The repertoire of songs in the Gem's performances includes melodies from old and new Hindi cinema.

The Concert in the Park series allows residents to bring a chair or a blanket, sit back, relax and enjoy the summer weather while listening to a musical performance.  The series also features a family friendly movie in the park, as well.

All events start at 7 p.m. at Beech Woods Park, or in case of rain at the Community Center in Woodlot Park.
