Community Cars, Non-Profit Housing Aid South Brunswick Seniors

Community cars are scheduled to begin operating in April.

Pat Kay, Aging in Place PARTNERSHIP Board Facilitator for Transportation, has championed the community cars pilot project since she learned of its potential more than a year ago.

“As a socially, active blind person, this is a vital addition to the existing transportation services not only where I live but would be in most communities, especially those serving the 55 and over population,” she said. “With Community Cars scheduled to begin in April, 2012, we are poised to become a state leader in transportation services for townships like South Brunswick.

“I treasure my independence and ability to make choices as to my lifestyle and look forward to April when I can extend my options.”

With this added transportation resource, AIPP has taken a giant step forward in promoting not only South Brunswick’s housing options, such as established, well maintained two and three bedroom ranches, apartments, townhouses, condo and 55 and over communities, but to inform and educate those looking for alternatives when contemplating a move, retirement, or downsizing.

Coupled with the myriad cultural, recreational, educational and social programs within the Township and nearby Princeton and New Brunswick, the numerous workshops, forums, and social activities at the South Brunswick Senior Center going far beyond most “Community Centers,” and the health care services.
