Open house events, family time at the library and a blood donor drive highlight weekend events in and around South Brunswick.

Saturday

Family LEGO Club, South Brunswick Public Library, 110 Kingston Ln, Monmouth Junction, 2 p.m.

Stop by the library and join the Lego Club. The library will supply the legos and you can share your ideas, techniques, and creations with your friends and other club members. Showcase at the end of each meeting. It has been shown that children learn best through play and there is nothing more fun than playing and building with legos. This program will help children exercise their teamwork, problem solving, and decision making skills. It will also help to build construction skills, improve vocabulary, and strengthen crucial math concepts including sorting, colors, shapes, and patterning knowledge.

Hero Con, South Brunswick Public Library, 110 Kingston Ln, Monmouth Junction, 5:30 p.m.

Come to Hero Con, a celebration of all things heroic (girls and guys) from comics and manga.  This event is open to all ages, and a full posting of events will be up by December.

Winter Blood Donor Drive, 1001 Finnegan Ln, North Brunswick, 11 a.m.

Congregation B’nai Tikvah will hold a Winter Blood Donor Drive from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donors 17 and up (16 with Parent/Guardian written okay) are eligible. Be in good general health and weigh at least 120-lbs. Eat before donating, and have an ID with your signature. FDA Regulations require a Donor’s, or Social Security, number on your application. Open House, The Learning Experience, 3754 Route 1, Monmouth Junction, noon.

The Learning Experience welcomes all families to stop in with your children for a tour, some snacks, and an activity for your child.  The open house is from noon to 4 p.m. There are tuition promotions that they are currently running as well. 

Music and Dance Open House, Music Tech, 43 Stouts Ln, Monmouth Junction, 1 p.m.

Come in and meet the staff, and see what Music Tech has to offer in 2013. Music lessons on all instruments and dance classes for all ages. Get a free lesson when you sign up for one month.
