South Brunswick Community Unity Day Pavilion at National Night Out

The South Brunswick Municipal Alliance Against Substance Abuse will once again partner with the South Brunswick Police Department to have a Charlene J. Austin Community Unity Day (CUD) Pavilion at National Night Out, on Tuesday, August 6, from 6:00pm - 9:00pm at Rowland Park, 235-255 Broadway Road.  The CUD Pavilion will provide the opportunity for civic and community groups to share information on their services and programs and display the healthy activities they provide that help to prevent alcohol, tobacco and drug abuse.

This year’s CUD Pavilion will have over 30 “vendors” including several Township departments, as well as representation from school groups, local hospitals and health organizations, religious and faith based groups and non-profit organizations.

This year’s Community Unity Day will mark the 25th celebration of the inaugural event, which was founded by the late Charlene J. Austin, for whom it was later named.  Ms. Austin was the first chairperson of the Mayor’s Task Force on Substance Abuse and the South Brunswick Municipal Alliance.  The South Brunswick Municipal Alliance is funded by a grant from the NJ Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (GCADA).
