Last night Joe Gondek passed away. I am so saddened by his death that I find it truly difficult to explain. Anyone who knew Joe knew a person who made the best of every situation he was ever in. I always considered him the ultimate “man’s man.” Joe was the owner of Confectionately Yours in Franklin Park and was married to Mary for more years than I can count. He leaves behind 5 wonderful children and 3 grandchildren. He was my friend and I will miss him. If I had a chance to say good-bye to Joe, I would have just thanked him for his friendship. It was an honor to have him as my friend. Rest in peace…
