 iscussion  on Amateur Astronomy as part of the Adult Summer Reading  Pro
 gram "Between the Covers."\nProfessor Vanderbei is the chair of the Depa
 rtment of Operations  Research and Financial Engineering (ORFE) at Princ
 eton University. He  co-authored the book Sizing Up the Universe\, publi
 shed by  National Geographic in 2010 which features his astonishing  ast
 rophotography. Professor Vanderbei is also a member of the Amateur  Astr
 onomers Association of Princeton whose members search the skies from  th
 e Simpson Observatory in Washington Crossing State Park.&nbsp\; His webs
