Rumor or Rule?

So I’ve mentioned before that my sister received her blue card and what a shock that is to me. Well imagine how I felt learning that my sister’s childhood best friend is actually behind the wheel! That little girl I used to play dolls with is now driving – in a real car…on real roads!

While I will always see her as half of the annoying duo that always wanted to play, I know that she has grown into a responsible, smart “big girl.” It just gets me thinking…

With rumors of law changes, red stickers, and provisional license rules, does anyone know what is rule and what is a rumor?

Let me clear some stuff up.

With your “special learners permit” you may drive:

  • Anytime except between the hours of 11:01 p.m. and 5 a.m.
  • In the company of an adult over 21 who has had his or her license for at least three years.
  • With one supervising adult, any one who lives in your home, and one additional passenger. Distant family members do not count unless they live in your house.

Despite the controversy and rumors, permit holders must still display the red stickers on their license plates.

Good luck to all learners, and cut your parents some slack; they will get the hang of it eventually.
