Muslims Condemn Violent Reaction to Anti-Muslim Film

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA strongly condemns the senseless acts of violence against the U.S. diplomatic offices in Egypt and Libya as well as the murder of the U.S. Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens, and other U.S. diplomats. The killing of any innocent person is completely wrong, and no religious or moral teachings anywhere in the world can sanction the killing of an ambassador or other representative of a State.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA fully supports the ongoing U.S. diplomatic efforts around the world and call on all people of conscience to wholly condemn such barbaric and unjustifiable attacks against those working towards peace.

“On the basis of Islamic teachings, Ahmadi Muslims have always been against all forms of terrorism and extremism,” said Amjad Mahmood Khan, National Director of Public Affairs for Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, USA. “We stand in solidarity with the U.S. State Department in their efforts to establish just and peaceful relations between nations.”

About the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a dynamic, fast-growing international revival movement within Islam. Founded in 1889, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community spans 200 countries with membership exceeding tens of millions. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, established in 1920, is the first American-Muslim organization.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long-awaited messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) of Qadian, India. Ahmad claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (peace be upon him).

The Community believes that God sent Ahmad, like Jesus, to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and reinstitute morality, justice and peace. Ahmad’sadvent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival and moderation. He divested Muslims of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings.

Hi Peggy,
Thanks for your comments. I'm so glad that I found a newspaper where I could share my thoughts on behalf of my community and clear some of the misconceptions about real Islam which is mostly seen through the telescope of uninformed/underinformed media.
We are having an open forum at our community center in Old Bridge (27 South Street) on Sunday at 12 PM. We will be honored if you come andshare your thoughts.

Abdul, that would be wonderful! Maybe you could start at the Old Bridge Library. I was wondering whether organizations like the Rotary Club would be interested in having a session at one of their regularly scheduled meetings. Patch lets you advertise events. Let me know if I can help.
It's human instinct to fear the unknown even when the unknown is a religion. And unfortunately, greedy people use this fear to instill hatred. Educating the community is the best way to achieve understanding and acceptance. Thank you so much for volunteering.

Peggy, I'm working on the Old Bridge Library option, and would love to explore the Rotary Club option as well. If you have some ideas and contact info, please let me know and would be awesome if we could do it collaboratively.
