What Restaurant Should Replace Charlie Brown's?
Kingston eatery closed in 2010.
Charlie Brown's Steakhouse in Kingston was one of 47 restaurants owned by CB Holding Corp. of Mountainside, to shut its doors in late 2010. CB Shared Services took over CB Holding Corp. after they declared bankruptcy and shut down the location in November 2010.
While some other Charlie Brown's locations, including in East Windsor, were reopened this year, the Kingston location was not on the list. So we want to know what restaurant you would like to see come to South Brunswick.
Would you like to see Charlie Brown's reopen at the location? If it was your call, what restaurant would you like to open its doors in South Brunswick? Tell us in the comments.

Hey Springsteen Fan maybe Bruce will open up a restaurant...and Just like him..
1. The food will be terrible and taste like something Bob Dylan would cook on a bad day
2. He will partner with scalpers to overcharge patrons just to get in
3. His menu will be designed for the 99%ers while he only eats at Ruths Chris
4. He wont pay any taxes
5. Theyll play music supporting the Union workers while hiring underpaid illegal aliens in the kitchen
6. People will pretend they had a great meal when the food really sucks!
Sounds just like one of his concerts!

Roy's Hawaiian Fusion Restaurant. Upscale chain all over CA, FL and Hawaii, also in Vegas, Baltimore, Phoenix, Dallas, Chicago. Amazing food! What a coup for this area!

The property was at auction last November, and I don't know who bought it. I'm sure their plans are going forward by now. You could probably check with the town officials to see what is planned.

When Good Time Charlie's opened there, it lasted for years, It was one of a kind, It was good enough to branch out;_Charlie's Brother, Charlie's Other Brother, and more. Eventually, the family ran out of steam and sold off. I would rather see another independent than an established chain. (I still miss the Loraine Diner. McDonald's is no substitute.)

Some good suggestions mentioned earlier. A Baja Fresh would be a good alternative, as well. Anything, but Indian - we're saturated in that cuisine here.

When Good Time Charley's opened in the early 70's the demographic of the area was well-suited to the wonderful steakhouse that was Charley's. The demographic of the Kingston-South Brunswick area has changed dramatically since then, and there may now be more of a demand for southern Asian cuisine in that location.

Actually... the cuisine is globally-inspired international fusion, and there is a sports bar as well. The service will be world class, warm and friendly. It is independently owned, and the grand opening will be shortly after the new year.
