There Are Only Four Kinds of People in The World
Discovering your home care and care giving options in South Brunswick.
“There are only four kinds of people in the world. Those who have been caregivers, those who are currently caregivers, those who will be caregivers, those who will need caregivers.” -- Roslyn Carter
I am willing to bet that you will identify with at least two, if not all of the above descriptions. If I am correct you will want to be part of the participatory forum, “Preparing Today for Tomorrow: Discovering Your Home Care/Care Giving Options.”
The forum will be held on June 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the South Brunswick Public Works Building in the Municipal Complex, located on Route 522W.
It will bring together leaders and innovators from multiple sectors, including the Keynote Speaker, Lowell Arye, Deputy Commissioner of the state Department of Human Services.
The day is designed as an opportunity to meet and learn from state, county and local government, non-profit and business leaders about, "things you need to know but don't know who to ask."
The forum is designed to encourage the boomer and sandwich generations (children of families and the seniors themselves) to learn more and discover little known resources. Attendees will also learn how to access this information so vital to planning, and determining how and why considering “aging in place” can be a viable option.
Topics include but not limited to:
- What If?
- Hospital Discharge/Emergency Services
- Veteran’s Services
- Problems and Information Gaps
- Questions Nobody Asks
- Getting Things in Place
- Family Support/Personal Advocate
- Financial, Insurance, Housing and Transportation resources
- Telehealth and much more….and of course your participation in the conversation, “Mom I promise I will never put you in a nursing home.”
Space is limited. Pre-Register and lunches are free until June 1. Lunch at the door - $10.
Register in advance at: Jacque@AgingInPlacePARTNERSHIP.org, online at www.AgingInPlacePARTNERSHIP.org, or call 732-305-7079.
