South Brunswick Seeking Nominations for Recognition of Inspirational Staff Members
Nominate a teacher or educational services professional who has inspired learning and made a difference in the lives of our children.
The South Brunswick School District invites community members to nominate a teacher or educational services professional for recognition in the 2012 South Brunswick Teacher/Educational Services Professional Recognition Program.
This program acknowledges those special teachers and educational services professionals who have inspired learning and made a difference in the lives of our children with their caring and support.
The deadline to nominate an educational professional is Feb. 10, 4 p.m. If you are interested in nominating one of the district's dedicated professionals, please visit the South Brunswick School District web site for more information.
Write a letter nominating an outstanding teacher or educational services provider:
Using the 2011-2012 District theme, “Building Tomorrow, Today,” as a guide, write a letter telling us how this person is influencing your child’s future.

Please be sure to indicate the teacher's name and school on each page of your letter.
A District Selection Panel will use the following criteria to select this year’s recipients.
Criteria for Exceptional Teachers
- Sets high expectations for all students
- Establishes a positive classroom climate and rapport with all students
- Makes sure that students learn (uses effective instructional techniques and methods)
- Utilizes a variety of instructional strategies to support student learning
- Instills a love of learning and a feeling of self-worth in students.
Criteria for Exceptional Educational Services Professionals
- Interacts positively with students, staff and parents
- Fosters an appropriate environment for learning and explores creative alternatives to enable all students to achieve their fullest potential
- Instills a love of learning and feeling of self-worth in students.
A Teacher: Classroom Teacher (Regular Education, Special Education or Instructional Support) Art Teacher, Music Teacher, Physical Education Teacher, or a World Language Teacher.
Educational Services Professional: Associate School Library Media Specialist, School Athletic Trainer, Director of School Counseling Services, School Counselor, School Library Media Specialist, Learning Disabilities Teacher- Consultant, Reading Specialist, School Nurse (Instructional and Non-instructional), School Occupational Therapist, School Physical Therapist, School Psychologist, School Social Worker, Speech-Language Specialist, Substance Awareness Coordinator, Cooperative Education coordinator/Hazardous Occupations, Cooperative Education Coordinator, County Apprenticeship Coordinator, and Educational Interpreter (Sign Language Interpreting, Oral Interpreting, and Cued Speech Transliteration).
