Barbecue & Hamlet at South Brunswick High School

The South Brunswick High School Drama Club will present the comedy Barbecue & Hamlet in the SBHS auditorium on Jan. 12, 13 and 14.

The South Brunswick High School Drama Club, the Pirandello Players, will be presenting the Pat Cook comedy Barbecue & Hamlet at 7:30 p.m. in the South Brunswick High School auditorium on Jan. 12, 13 and 14.

Barbecue & Hamlet follows the trials of Margo Daley as she takes the helm directing “The Peaceful Glen Memorial Players” (yes – the theater is in a reconverted funeral home) rendition of Hamlet

Anything can and does go wrong as this community theatre group attempts to bring Shakespeare to the stage.

The part of “Margo Daley” is played by senior, Holly Korzeniowski.

Senior Samantha Satnick creates the role of “Tamara Logan” head of the wacky governing council at Peaceful Glen.  Rebecca Morris, Mark Scoff and Jessica Stanislawczyk are hilarious as the members of the council.

The audience is transported from auditions through the actual production where junior Tyler Crozier plays “Hamlet,” which is now set in the Wild West.  Emily Ezzo brings the part of “Theodora Van Horne,” community theatre diva, to life while freshmen Sai Reddy and Richard Daley, sophomore Teddi Vargas and juniors Samantha Sharpe and Andre Williams round out the insane group of actors.

Junior Quentin Madia plays the theatre critic, “Harlen Dortmunger” and handles the position of stage manager.  The show is directed by Virginia Kraft and the student tech team includes Debbie Medina, Michael Moriarty and Nandita Rao.

This show is guaranteed to have the audience laughing out loud.

Tickets are available at the door, $8 for adults, $7 for students.  Come out and enjoy a fantastic evening of theatre.
