A New Take on Fast Food Coming to Kendall Park
New restaurant to open in site of former Siegel's Pharmacy in Kendall Park
Think Grill, a restaurant chain coming soon to Kendall Park, is looking to change the stigma surrounding fast food.
Paris Minadakis, co-owner of the restaurant, calls Think Grill's menu less like fast food and more like a homemade grill. He considers referring to it as "healthy fast food," an oversimplification of what the restaurant is trying to do.
"We're not a typical fast food place," Mr. Minadakis says. "Nothing cooked here is microwaved or cooked and reheated on a flattop grill. Everything we make is cooked on premises and is made fresh daily."
Mr. Minadakis, originally from Athens, and his co-owner Tony Chatzimanolis, born in Rhodes, founded Think Grill two-and-a-half years ago in Union. Currently, the Union restaurant is the only Think Grill in existence, but Mr. Minadakis says that development deals are in the works to bring franchises to other parts of New Jersey and even Pennsylvania.
Mr. Minadakis cites the unique concept of his restaurant – a Mediterranean grill with a touch of Greece – as the cause for expansion. He called the barbeque ribs and fresh-meat gyros two of the restaurant's signature dishes, but added that the entire menu is signature because it is unlike anything else on the market.
Mr. Minadakis and Mr. Chatzimanolis were both once pastry chefs, so Mr. Minadakis recommends that customers try the desert menu, which includes traditional Greek items such as baklava, profiterole, and frappe.
The menu at Think Grill isn't restricted to just Greek dishes, however, and American classics like hamburgers and macaroni and cheese are also available. Special items will spring up from time to time, like an all-day lamb roast on occasional Sundays.
The South Brunswick restaurant is expected to launch in February and like its Union predecessor will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily and will have a dining area.
Clients will also be able to order takeout and get their food delivered. South Brunswick Township has cleared the new building, which will be located at 3122 Route 27 in Kendall Park, to hold a maximum of 42 customers.

Thank you for mentioning that this new business is on the site of the former Siegel's Pharmacy - I thought it was, but couldn't quite be sure from the photos.
