Vitnage Baseball Game at the Dey Farm in Monroe Township, NJ

Flemington Neshanock  vs.  Philadelphia Athletics (a double header )-- begins 12 noon, Saturday, September 29, 2012

Remember Shoeless Johnson, Abner  Doubleday, Cooperstown? See baseball the way it was played in the 1800's when the Neshanocks play the Athletics on the north pasture of the Historic Dey Farm--located on Federal Road near the intersection of Applegarth and Federal Roads in Monroe Township.

Step back in time -bring your family and friends to vintage baseball, where gloves are optional, foul balls are a strategy, the batter can request where he wants the ball to be pitched, and nine balls constitute a  walk. The game was faster, fun and very different.  The likes of Maddog, Thumbs, Bootleg, Hammer and Shoeless will be playing.  So pack a picnic basket; bring a lawn chair, blanket or sit on a hay bale-- relax-- and enjoy vintage baseball.

This event is sponsored by the Monroe Township Historic Preservation Commission-- and is free for all. Parking available on Federal Road.
